WHAT SELF CARE LOOKS LIKE TO ME

self care to me is not just about the products im putting on my body, although important. Self care to me is also the intention and action i put into myself.





SHOWER MEDITATION

shower meditation!!! now shower meditation and regular meditation have to be in different sections for a very strong purpose! shower meditation to me feels like purging any energy that no longer serves me. its to cleanse not only my body but my spirit and i think showers are the perfect place to do so! imagining all of the baggage from the day washing down the drain and stepping out light and clean? immaculate.


MEDITATION

now look.. i am not going to sit up here and act like im consistent in meditation or like meditating is the easiest thing for me, because its definitely not. im actually a top tier meditation procrastinator and thats not to say its because i don't enjoy it.. sometimes meditation feels hard, mostly because i don't like listening to my own thoughts most of the time or because i feel like im going insane and making things up. a lot of the time my mind feels foggy and it feels like theres a lot going on but truth is thats when i am being called to meditate the most.. its hard not running from the truth sometimes i will admit, and its hard being told the truth when your not ready to put in the work, but meditation has always high lighted those things for me when its the right timing..divine timing. so my advice on meditating.. discipline yourself, and at first dont focus on being consistent just focus on starting. second start off small, 15/20 min meditation.. i incorporate crystals just to feel real witchy and set my intentions in the present, and if you struggle with clearing your mind remember meditation isnt to be silent meditation is to spend time with yourself so allow your thoughts to pass through you with acknowledgment and action. guided meditations help me so much when i find myself needing clarity it feels like journal prompts in my mind and the answer isnt coming from me but my highest self.meditation feels like a birds eye view and a direct shift into the present moment.



SKIN CARE

when i define what skin care it feels like i say it's being affectionate with myself. taking time to moisturize my body, having time to sit with myself and pouring into myself physically! skin care feels good especially when you aren't rushing it, learning my body and what feels good on my skin and recognizing what works for me, self care is intimate when you set the intention on feeling good. affirm yourself while doing it!!


ACCEPTANCE

all in all the greatest self care you can give yourself is grace, being able to allow yourself to just show up, to exist without the constant "why did i do that" "why didn't i know better" "why didn't i do better". in reality we are always doing the best we can do in the moment and if you don't feel that way ask yourself why? what would you expect to be doing differently? how would you show up? if you can pin point what your ' ideal self is' the self that your picking yourself apart to find then you are probably already on the way to becoming that version, the first step truly is the acknowledgment, the acknowledgment is what sets everything into motion. you just have to be graceful, you just have to relax and give yourself time to brew into that person, if your best friend or someone you love deeply talked about themselves the same way you speak to yourself would you let them? you wouldn't because you know its not nice. so accept yourself for how you are in this moment, because right now you are good enough, and you are on your way to your best self.
